    This is the website of the National Kidney Foundation, a patient advocacy group.  Here you will find information about all sorts of chronic disease.  There is a useful section on diet for patients with different degrees of chronic kidney disease.

    This website is geared towards patients already being treated with dialysis (i.e. for end-stage renal disease).  There is some useful information regarding living with chronic kidney disease as well.  This is an industry sponsored website.
  • National Kidney Disease Education Program
    This website is particularly useful for patients newly diagnosed with chronic kidney disease who, frequently, are concerned and confused about the meaning of their diagnosis or the tests which led to the diagnosis.  The National Kidney Disease Education Program is sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (United States).
  • Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation
    The Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation, a patient advocacy group, offers this website with information benefitting patients diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease.
  • National Kidney and Urologic Diseases Information (NKUDIC)
    This website is rich in information provided by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, a division of the National Institutes of Health (United States).  All aspects of kidney disease are covered well.

    Information here is provided by the United Network on Organ Sharing.  This website is helpful to patients who may be considering pursuing transplantation or living with a transplanted organ.  This website has considerable support from the pharmaceutical industry.
